About Me
I have worked in data analytics since 2013, in the early days of data science in Japan. My early career included designing recommendation algorithms, improving retail operations using ID-POS data, developing and validating demand-forecasting models, and evaluating policy effectiveness. I also conducted overseas market research and supported university–industry collaborations, leveraging my proficiency in Chinese.
Later, I worked as a freelance data analyst and contributed to a wide range of short-term projects across industries. After the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, I shifted my focus to regional revitalization. I joined the Chiiki Okoshi Kyoryokutai (Community Revitalization Team) in Nagano Prefecture, where I supported resort development, provided IT/web consulting, built multilingual tourism websites, managed crowdfunding projects, and delivered upskilling seminars for local residents. I also planned inbound tourism initiatives with overseas influencers and coordinated international collaborations for Japanese creators.
In parallel, I supported startups by building analytics functions and handling ad-hoc data projects. Over time, my role evolved from data science to a more business-oriented analytics position, owning the full process—from problem definition and analysis design to data preparation, execution, reporting, and decision support.
My strength is translating ambiguous business challenges into structured analytical problems through stakeholder interviews and exploratory data analysis. I am comfortable with a broad range of statistical methods, and I prioritize practical, cost-effective solutions and business impact over overly complex models.
My core expertise includes decision support, user/behavioral analysis, effectiveness measurement, business planning, and market research. I am highly attuned to trends, and I excel at turning new information into actionable strategies.
I entered the Tokyo Institute of Technology MOT (Management of Technology) graduate program in 2020 and completed it in 2022. My master’s thesis, “An Evaluation of Migration Promotion Policies in Japan,” quantitatively assessed policy effectiveness using causal inference and an EBPM (evidence-based policymaking) approach.
In 2022, I incorporated a data analytics company to provide analytics services and project leadership. In 2025, I enrolled in the Kyushu University MBA to further integrate practice and theory and create greater value.
